Veteran Designation on California Driver License and ID Card

Effective November 12, 2015, California Veterans will be able to obtain a "Veteran" designation on their California driver license or identification card (DL/ID). A Veteran designation on a DL/ID card proudly recognizes military service, and is intended to enable US Veterans to access certain privileges, benefits, or compensation associated with being a Veteran without having to carry and produce their Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty (DD Form 214 ). Visit the CALVET web site for instructions.
